The Legion of Mary is an association of Catholic lay men and women who do voluntary work, sanctioned by the parish priest. The Legion was founded by Frank Duff in Dublin in 1921. We started in 1978.
Our weekly meetings are held in Árus Lorcáin on Monday evenings at 8.00 p.m. Our members carry out a variety of works, mainly delivery of Irish Catholic papers etc. Work obligation is two hours per week and is always done in pairs.
The Legion of Mary in Johnstown meet every Thursday night in the May Byrne Trust House, Coolgreany at 7.30 p.m.
An hour of prayer for different intentions takes place on a regular basis.
