The Arklow Parish Women’s Development Group commenced in the Parish Centre, Árus Lorcáin on Tuesday September 7th 2010 under the guidance of Shiela Busher and Hilary Sharpe. The aim of the Group is to be a place where all women can come together to share and develop new friendships and skills and to be encouraged to develop their talents in a safe and friendly environment to char, socialise, gain knowledge from one another and learn new skills. Some of the activities of the group have included:
- Line dancing
- Advice on healthy eating and cookery demonstrations.
- Citizen information
- Living life counselling
- Flower arranging
- Card making
- Beginners art classes
- Alternative therapy
Discussions take place on a regular basis with the members regarding the activities they would like to do. The group starts at 10.30 a.m. and finishes at 12.30 p.m. All members are requested to be present by 10.30 a.m. Cost is €2 per morning and an annual membership will also apply.
