The primary objective of this association is the organization of leisure and social events of its members. They organize regular outings and meet weekly in Árus Lorcáin for indoor bowls.
Also they hold a weekly drop in centre in Árus Lorcáin where you can call in for a cup of tea and access information.
There is also a monthly meeting on the first Wednesday from 3pm to 4pm

April 8th, 2011The Prayer Groups in the Parish who meet regularly to pray together:
Our lady Queen of Peace Prayer Group pray the Rosary for Vocations to the Priesthood and Religious Life and for the conversion of sinners.
They meet at 8 pm every Friday night in Árus Lorcáin. For more information contact Christine Doyle.

St. Joseph’s Young Priests Association
April 8th, 2011St. Joseph’s Young Priests Society is a lay Catholic organisation to promote vocations to the priesthood and religious life.
The meetings are monthly in the Árus Lorcáin after 10 a.m. Mass on each 1st Friday.We undertake to pray daily for an increase in vocations.
Financial help is given to students studying for the priesthood in Ireland, but, owing to their small numbers, aid is now given to students in Africa and India. We would be very glad of some new members.

Legion of Mary
April 8th, 2011The Legion of Mary is an association of Catholic lay men and women who do voluntary work, sanctioned by the parish priest. The Legion was founded by Frank Duff in Dublin in 1921. We started in 1978.
Our weekly meetings are held in Árus Lorcáin on Monday evenings at 8.00 p.m. Our members carry out a variety of works, mainly delivery of Irish Catholic papers etc. Work obligation is two hours per week and is always done in pairs.
The Legion of Mary in Johnstown meet every Thursday night in the May Byrne Trust House, Coolgreany at 7.30 p.m.
An hour of prayer for different intentions takes place on a regular basis.
Knights of St. Columbanus
April 8th, 2011We are an order of Catholic Laymen dedicated to the service of Christ in daily life, in the workplace, the marketplace, in city, urban and provincial areas.
We welcome into our ranks Catholic men, in full communion with the Church, who would wish to bring the service of Christ, their talents and skills towards the promotion of Christian values and principles in Society for the greater honour and glory of God the Father.
