Jubilee Schedule
January 2nd 2011: 12 p.m. Mass to open the 150th Jubilee Celebrations. Local man Ronnie Delaney will open the year of celebration
February: A special Mass to mark St. Brigid’s day will take place organised by Arklow Girl Guides / Brigini. A Parish Social has been organised for 12th February.
March: A Festival of Faith (Parish Mission) will take place from March 19th – 26th. We see this week as an opportunity for all people of the Parish to be renewed in Faith, Hope and Love.
Preparation for this began on November 4th when almost 500 young people came to the Church grounds and each planted a daffodil bulb in specially prepared beds that we hope will bloom and burst forth to announce the coming of the Festival of Faith. March will also see the first of two Church Concerts
April: Fun filled family weekend and Exhibition
June: Launch of a book on the history of our Church and Parish and photo exhibition.
July: There will be time set aside this month to celebrate emigrants returning home for the annual blessing of the graves.
August: World Youth Day will take place in Madrid
September: This month marks the main event of the Jubilee Year and the main focus of this day will be a very significant liturgy celebrated by Archbishop Diarmuid Martin. President McAleese will also be in attendance.
Special Mass for marriage celebrations will take place and the annual trip to Lourdes.
October: Will see a trip to the Holy Land.
November: Special Mass for members of the seafaring community in Arklow. Also the second Church Concert will take place.
December: The 31st will mark the close of this special event packed year. Many other celebrations will take place throughout the year.
